Description:

The proposed operation improvement project includes intersection and traffic signal improvements on the FM 1472 corridor between I-69W and Pan American Boulevard to improve safety, reduce delays, relieve congestion, and improve traffic flow. Traffic on this corridor is currently experiencing long delays and congestion due to high traffic volumes. This corridor is located adjacent to the World Trade Bridge in Laredo, Texas, which is the busiest inland port in the United States, and the adjacent land uses generate a large percentage of heavy truck traffic. The goal of the project is to increase the traffic carrying capacity on FM 1472. No additional right of way or easements are anticipated.

Written comments from the public regarding the proposed project are requested and may be submitted by mail to the TxDOT Laredo District Office, 1817 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, Texas 78043. Written comments may also be submitted by email. All comments must be received on or before Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Responses to comments received will be available online once they have been prepared.
