| Purpose | The purpose of the public meeting is to present the proposed improvements to the public and receive comments. The virtual and in-person meeting will consist of the same narrated presentation by the project team, project exhibits and other information, and an opportunity to comment. |
| Description | TxDOT is proposing improvements along SH 105 from Mount Mariah Road to FM 149 in Montgomery County, Texas. The previously approved project includes widening the two-lane portion of SH 105 to four lanes from Mt. Mariah Road to SH 149. The original project went through public involvement and environmental evaluation prior to the 2017 Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), also known as Environmental Clearance. This public meeting addresses proposed design changes to the environmentally cleared project. Historical information on the SH 105 project may be found on the virtual meeting webpage for those seeking additional information. The approved project widens SH 105 from Mt. Mariah Road to FM 149 from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway with a curb and gutter on the eastern half of the project through the city of Montgomery, and open ditches with outside shoulders for the project length west of Montgomery. Proposed design changes include the addition of an access road and turnaround at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad in Dobbin, and the addition of continuous sidewalks and shared use paths for pedestrians and bicyclists from Lone Star Parkway to Shepherd Street. The project is 6.0 miles in length. The proposed design changes would displace two additional residential properties. Approximately 6 acres of additional right-of-way (ROW) would be needed due to the proposed design changes. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program, benefits and services, as well as information about the tentative schedules for ROW acquisition and construction will be made available during both the virtual and in-person meeting option. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. |
