Notice Affording Opportunity for Public Hearing - CR 101

Brazoria County, in conjunction with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), is proposing to widen and improve CR 101 (Bailey Road) from CR 90 to FM 1128 (Manvel Road) in Brazoria County, Texas. The total distance of the project is approximately 2.2 miles.

The proposed project would include widening CR 101 to a four-lane, divided concrete boulevard. The proposed roadway would have four new, concrete-paved, travel lanes, curb-and-gutter drainage, and an 18-footwide raised median with left-turn bays. Also proposed is a 10-foot-wide sidewalk with pedestrian ramps on the north side and an open ditch on the south side. An approximately 8-acre detention pond with 26-acre foot capacity is proposed on the north side of the roadway. The pond would drain northward and outfall to Mary’s Creek via a drainage easement. The purpose of the project is to improve mobility, reduce congestion, and improve safety. The proposed project would occur within the existing 120-foot-wide right of way (ROW); therefore, no residential or non-residential structures would be displaced.

Any interested member of the public may request a public hearing covering the social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed location and design for this project. Requests for a public hearing must be submitted in writing on or before Aug. 14, 2018, to:
