Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed widening of FM 2920 from BU 290 to SH 249 in Harris County, Texas. The meeting will be held in an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience and provide comments at any point. Staff will be available to answer questions; no formal presentation is planned. Comments must be received on or before Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, to be a part of the official meeting record. Please note an additional public meeting opportunity has been scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, at Tomball High School. The Information will be the same at both meetings.

The proposed project would:

  • Widen the existing FM 2920 from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided roadway from BU 290 to Cypress Rosehill Road
  • Convert a four-lane to a six-lane divided roadway from Cypress Rosehill Road to SH 249
  • Include bicycle facilities and sidewalks
  • Add a flush median from BU 290 to SH 290
  • Add a grassy median from SH 290 to AJ Foyt
  • Add a raised median from AJ Foyt to SH 249

With the proposed alignment, approximately 200 acres of new right of way would be required, including detention ponds.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23. U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019 and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
