Purpose The City of Conroe and Texas Department of Transportation are proposing improvements along Old Conroe Road from State Loop (SL) 336 South to Farm-to-Market (FM) 1488 in Montgomery County, Texas.
Description

The proposed project would widen Sgt. Ed Holcomb Boulevard and Old Conroe Road to four 12-foot-wide travel lanes (two in each direction) with the addition of a 14-foot-wide raised, grassy or concrete median, a 10-foot-wide shared use path on the east side, and curb-and-gutter drainage.  Intermittent 6-foot-wide sidewalks would also be constructed. The existing facility along Sgt. Ed Holcomb Boulevard and Old Conroe Road would be extended and connected with the construction of a new bridge over the West Fork San Jacinto River and Lake Creek.  The approximately 1-mile-long bridge would consist of four 12-foot-wide travel lanes separated by a concrete barrier, with 10-foot-wide outside shoulders and a 14-foot-wide shared use path on the east side.

Although 191 acres additional right of way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction may be obtained by calling (713) 953-5093 or email as shown in the notice

The proposed project would involve construction in wetlands and would involve an action in a floodplain.

Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for review by appointment Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the City of Conroe City Hall, 300 W. Davis, Conroe, Texas 77301. Project materials are also available online
