Description:
The feasibility study area includes limits within downtown Joshua extending from just west of Avenue F eastward to just west of Bentley Drive and from south of 14th Street northward to 12th Street. The proposed project alternative includes a railroad grade separation (underpass) at BNSF along with realigning and widening FM 917 from the existing two-lane section to a three-lane section with curb and gutter. The study will also consider enhancements to accommodate bicycles and pedestrians. The purpose of the proposed project is to enhance safety and connectivity within the study area.
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S. Code Section 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
