Virtual details | The virtual meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The presentation will be posted online by Thursday, July 11, 2024 by 10 a.m.., and will remain online until Friday, July 26, 2024. |
In-person details | Thursday, July 11, 2024 5 - 7 p.m. Alvarado Jr. High School 1000 North Cummings Drive Alvarado, Texas 76009 The in-person option will be held in an open house format. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public meeting which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. The in-person option will not include a live presentation. |
Purpose | TxDOT is proposing to improve FM 917 from I-35W to south of BU 287P in Johnson County, Texas. |
Description | The proposed project would reconstruct and widen FM 917 from I-35W to west of Mansfield. The project is 9.4 miles in length and improvements would realign and widen FM 917 from two lanes to an interim four lanes and an ultimate six-lane facility. TxDOT would like your input on the preferred alternative selected based on community input. The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace 7 residences and 16 non-residential structures. The proposed project would involve construction in wetlands. The proposed project would involve an action in a floodplain. |
