US 287 would also have 5-foot wide sidewalks on both sides of the road. A northbound continuous right-turn lane would be constructed adjacent to the school campuses in Mildred to help school zone traffic operations. Right and left-turn lanes would be provided as appropriate along the project. The proposed project would require approximately 38.4 acres of additional right of way (ROW) and 1.02 acres of permanent easement to expand the roadway. One residential structure would be displaced.
