TxDOT is providing an in-person public meeting option for individuals who would like to participate in-person instead of online. In-person attendees will be able to view the same information delivered in the online public meeting, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. Attendees may come and go at their convenience; there will be no formal presentation.

Purpose The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Abilene District is conducting a virtual public meeting with an in-person option to share information and gather input from the public regarding the proposed recommended alternative improvement option for FM 707 (Beltway S) from FM 89 (Buffalo Gap Road) to US 83 in the city of Abilene, Taylor County.
Description

The public meeting is to provide information and receive feedback regarding the proposed recommended alternative for this 2.6-mile segment of FM 707. This improvement aims to enhance safety and mobility along the corridor for all modes of traffic including vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle.

The proposed project would widen the existing two-lane, undivided roadway to a five-lane section with a continuous center two-way-left-turn lane with proposed sidewalks on the north side.

Accessibility

The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language, or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs.

If you need interpretation or translation services or are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public meeting or in-person option, please contact Alaisha Montanez, TxDOT Public Information Officer, at 325-676-6817 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Monday, Sept. 18, 2023. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodation may require time for the Texas Department of Transportation to arrange.
