SH 99 Frontage Roads from Bay Hill Blvd/Highland Knolls Dr to FM 1093
TxDOT, in conjunction with Fort Bend County proposes to complete the north and southbound frontage road network to SH 99 from Bay HillBlvd/Highland Knolls Drive to FM 1093 (Westheimer Parkway). The proposed project is anticipated to improve mobility and reduce congestion.
Current conditions
Within the project limits, Northbound from FM 1093 to South Fry Road, is a four-lane divided highway without frontage roads.
Proposed improvements
The proposed project includes the addition of seven new frontage roads and is comprised of seven segments.
- Segment 1: Northbound from South Fry Road to Westheimer Parkway
- Segment 2: Northbound from Westheimer Parkway to Cinco Ranch Boulevard
- Segment 3: Northbound from Cinco Ranch Boulevard to Highland Knolls Drive
- Segment 4: Southbound from Bay Hill Boulevard to Cinco Ranch Boulevard
- Segment 5: Southbound from Cinco Ranch Boulevard to Westheimer Parkway
- Segment 6: Southbound from Westheimer Parkway to South Fry Road
- Segment 7: Southbound from South Fry Road to FM 1093
The proposed project is comprised of two segments. Segment 1 from Cinco Ranch Boulevard to Westheimer Parkway and Segment 2 from Fry Road to FM 1093. The proposed project includes the addition of two new frontage lanes adjacent to the southbound side of the existing SH99/Grand Parkway. The travel lanes could be 12- or 14-feet-wide, partly within existing TxDOT right of way (ROW). The project also includes minor adjustments at the interchanges, without ramp reversals.
