Study Description

The City of Houston, in cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Houston District, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) proposes to widen Greens Road from Aldine-Westfield Road to John F. Kennedy Boulevard.

Current Conditions

Currently a two-lane undivided roadway, with parallel roadside ditches and six-foot-wide unpaved shoulders.

Proposed Improvements

The proposed project includes the widening of 1.6 miles of Greens Road from Aldine-Westfield Road to John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Houston, Harris County, Texas.  The proposed project would widen from a two- to a four-lane divided roadway with sidewalks on both sides, a raised median and curb and gutter drainage. The project will require additional Right of Way.  No displacements are anticipated to occur.

This study is a partnership between TxDOT, the City of Houston, and the FHWA.
