Notice of Availability of Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for FM 2493 from FM 346 south to US 69
Purpose:
This notice is to advise the public that TxDOT has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed FM 2493 project from FM 346, south to US 69 in Smith and Cherokee Counties, Texas.
Description:
The proposed FM 2493 project would widen the existing 2-lane undivided highway to a 4-lane highway with a flush median (continuous left-turn lane). The project includes a grade separation at US 69 and an approximate 1-mile transition east of US 69. Approximately 68 acres of additional right of way (ROW) would be required to implement the proposed improvements. The length of the project is 5.2 miles.
Copies of the approved final Environmental Assessment (EA) and FONSI, certification of public involvement, and supporting documentation are available for public inspection at the TxDOT Tyler District Office, 2709 W. Front St., Tyler, Texas, 75702, (903) 510-9159.
Memorandum of Understanding:
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
