Purpose:
The purpose of the public hearing is to gather public input on the proposed upgrade of 6.9 miles of the US 59 Loop in Laredo, based on Chapter 26: Protection of Public Parks and Recreational Lands in the Parks and Wildlife Code. An open house will begin at 5 p.m. and will provide information and display exhibits related to the project. During the open house portion TxDOT staff will be available to answer questions. The public hearing will be conducted at 6 p.m. and the open house will reconvene after the presentation. This Chapter 26 public hearing is being held due to the proposed projects potential impacts to Lake Casa Blanca State Park and the Casa Blanca Golf Course.
Description:
- three-lane mainlanes and three-lane frontage roads in each direction
- inside and outside shoulders
- appropriately placed on and off ramps
- interchanges at the five major street crossings
Spanish-speaking staff will be available at the public meeting. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
