Presentation at 6:30 p.m.
A public meeting will be co-hosted by The City of Houston and TxDOT regarding the North Houston Highway Improvement Project (NHHIP) and to provide an opportunity for public feedback. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience, along with a presentation that begins at 6:30 p.m. Please note an additional public meeting opportunity has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at the Acres Homes Multi-Service Center. Information will be the same for both meetings. Comments must be received by Wednesday, July 10.
The proposed NHHIP would include the addition of four managed express lanes (MaX Lanes) on I-45 from Beltway 8 North to Downtown Houston, including reconstruction of main lanes and frontage roads. In the Downtown area, I-45 would be rerouted to coincide with I-10 on the north side and I-69 on the east side and the existing elevated I-45 roadway along Downtown’s west and south sides would be decommissioned. Access to Downtown’s west side would be provided via Downtown connectors.
The public meeting will be conducted in English. Persons who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact TxDOT’s Public Information Offices at (713) 802-5076. Requests should be made at least five working days prior to the public meeting. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.
