Purpose:
The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input and receive comments on the proposed project FM 723 from Avenue D to FM 1093, in Fort Bend County.
Description:
Proposed changes would include:
- Widening the existing FM 723 roadway from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane (two lanes in each direction) divided roadway
- Adding shoulders and a raised median
- Adding 6-foot sidewalks on the east and west side of the roadway
The amount of right of way required would vary depending on the selected alternative. Commercial and residential displacements may occur and will be further evaluated during the environmental review process.
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
