Houston, Texas 77084 (Map)

When:

Thursday, June 15, 2017
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Purpose:

The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed improvements at SH 6 and Clay Road in Harris County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so citizens may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions.

Description:

TxDOT proposes to construct the following improvements at the intersection of SH 6 and Clay Road:

  • Reconstruct SH 6 as an overpass, leading traffic over Clay Road (adding a grade separation)
  • Add additional turning lanes at the Clay Road intersection

The proposed design would maintain access to adjacent properties and would include pedestrian and bicycle accommodations. The design will meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. Although right of way and displacement requirements are anticipated, the exact amount is not yet known. Written comments must be postmarked or submitted electronically by June 30, 2017.

Special accommodations: TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call the TxDOT Houston District Public Information Office at (713) 802-5076 at least five working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
