Open House - Landing Boulevard

Purpose:
The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed extension of Landing Boulevard from FM 518 to IH 45 in Galveston and Harris Counties. The meeting will be an open house format so citizens may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions.
Description:
- Construct a four lane divided concrete boulevard roadway that includes both existing and new location right of wayli>
- Provide two travel lanes each direction with a variable median and bicycle and sidewalk accommodations
- Add a storm sewer drainage system and detention pond
- Construct two bridges; one over Clear Creek and one over Harris County Flood Control District Channel A111
The proposed improvements would accommodate expected traffic demand and growth in the region, while enhancing safety by providing an additional north/south route on the west side of the City of League City. The proposed project area includes approximately 500 feet of existing roadway as well as approximately 23 acres of additional right of way. It is anticipated that one business would be displaced.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23U.S.C 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
