Purpose:

The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed roadway reconstruction of Gessner Road from I-10 to Long Point Road in the City of Houston, Harris County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, to be a part of the official meeting record.

Description:

The Memorial City Redevelopment Authority is sponsoring the reconstruction of Gessner Road between IH-10 and Long Point Road. The reconstruction consists of access management through median opening modifications (matching existing pavement width within the existing right of way), sidewalk and driveway replacement, upgrading subsurface public utilities, landscape enhancements, lighting improvements and an upgraded traffic signal at the Gessner Road and Westview Drive intersection.

The public meeting will be conducted in English. Persons who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact TxDOT’s Public Information Offices at (713) 802-5076. Requests should be made at least five working days prior to the public meeting. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
