The purpose of the meeting is to present the planned improvements and solicit public comments on the proposed roadway improvements to US 380 from Airport Drive to County Road 458, a distance of 7.2 miles, in Collin County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, to be a part of the official meeting record.
The project proposes to widen the current four-lane roadway facility to a six-lane divided urban facility with a raised median and new curb and gutters to US 380 from Airport Drive to County Road 458, Collin County, Texas. The expansion would consist of two 12-foot wide travel lanes and one 14-foot shared-use travel lane in each direction with two-foot offsets from the inside and outside curbs and a 5-foot sidewalk along each side of the facility. Right turn lanes (12-foot wide) would be provided as warranted by traffic analysis. The facility consists of three bridges that would be widened to two 12-foot travel lanes and one 14-foot travel lane in each direction with raised median that varies from 5-foot to 14-foot, 10-foot outside shoulder in each direction, 6-foot sidewalk in each direction separated from travel lanes by concrete traffic barrier and containing pedestrian rail on the outside. Written comments may be submitted for a period of 15 calendar days, by Nov. 9, 2018, following the meeting by mail to TxDOT Dallas District, 4777 E. Highway 80, Mesquite, TX 75150-6643, ATTN: Mr. Charles Tapp (US 380).
