Open House - 6 p.m.
Formal Presentation - 7 p.m.
The purpose of the hearing is to present the planned improvements and solicit public comments on the proposed roadway improvements to SH 276 from FM 549 in Rockwall County to CR 2472 in Hunt County, Texas. The hearing will be an open house format from 6 - 7 p.m. with formal presentation starting at 7 p.m. Comments must be received on or before Wednesday, July 24, 2019, to be a part of the official record.
The proposed project would reconstruct and widen approximately 7.4 miles of SH 276 to a four-lane divided urban highway with one 12-foot-wide travel lane and one 14-foot-wide outside shared-use lane in each direction, a variable width median that would accommodate an additional future lane in each direction, and left-turn lanes at various driveways and side-streets along the corridor and at intersections, including FM 551 and FM 548. Additional improvements would include five-foot sidewalks along both sides of the roadway. The proposed project would require approximately 34.6 acres of additional right of way (ROW) to expand the roadway. No residential or non-residential structures would be displaced.
TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (214) 320-4480 at least two working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
