Description:

Proposed improvements include two potential alternatives for consideration:

  • Front of School Alternative:
    • Construct a grade separated overpass bridge on FM 50 over the UPRR, and return back to grade at the existing FM 50 in front of the Mumford ISD Complex
    • Bridge would be approximately 1,125 foot in length
    • Roadway would contain two 12-foot travel lanes with 8- to 10-foot shoulders
    • Approximately 10.5 acres of new right of way would be required; residential and commercial structures would not be displaced
  • Back of School Alternative:
    • Construct grade separated overpass bridge on FM 50 over the UPRR, route behind the Mumford ISD Complex, and tie back into the existing FM 50 approximately 0.70 miles north of the school
    • Bridge would be approximately 1,684 foot in length
    • Roadway would contain two 12-foot travel lanes with 8- to 10-foot shoulders
    • Approximately 21.6 acres of new right of way would be required and there are no anticipated relocations
