Purpose:

TxDOT will conduct a third public meeting for the purpose of soliciting public comment on proposed improvements to U.S. 377 (Main Street) between FM 2524 (Austin Avenue) and the Truman Harlow Overpass (Lipscomb Street) in Brownwood. At a previous public meeting, held on May 3, 2018, TxDOT received valuable input from the public and affected property owners. Based on that input, the agency has revised the preliminary design and scope of the proposed project. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend to ask questions and provide comments. Written comments must be postmarked by Dec. 14, 2018, to be included in the official public meeting record.

Description:

Proposed improvements include the following:

  • Reconstruction of pavement
  • Adding a continuous center-turn lane
  • Upgrade of sidewalk and ADA ramps to meet current standards
  • Drainage improvements
  • Improvements to the intersection with Austin Avenue for turning movements

Special Accommodations:

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The meeting will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (325) 643-0415 at least five working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
