Purpose:
TxDOT will hold a public meeting to discuss the proposed improvements to I-10, from Hamshire Road to Farm to Market Road 365 in Jefferson County. The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input about these proposed improvements.
Description:
The purpose of the project is to improve safety and increase mobility by widening and reconstructing I-10 to add one lane in each direction, from Hamshire Road to FM 365 to provide a six-lane highway with a concrete median barrier. Each lane will be 12 feet wide, with 10-foot shoulders on each side. The interchanges at Hamshire Rd. and FM 365 would be reconstructed. Other project components include replacing and widening bridge structures at Taylor Bayou and other water crossings within the project limits. No additional right of way or displacements will be necessary for this project.
Project maps and other information concerning this project will be available at the public meeting. All interested citizens are invited to attend this meeting to provide input regarding the proposed project; there will be no formal presentation and citizens can come and go at their convenience.
The public meeting will be conducted in English. People requesting special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to call TxDOT’s Public Information Officer at (409) 898-5745 by Nov. 14, 2016. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs. Comments about the project may be submitted or postmarked by Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016.
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
