Notice of Availability and Finding of No Significant Impact – FM 969 from FM 973 to Hunters Bend Road

Purpose:

This notice advises the public that a final environmental assessment (EA) is available for public review and the TxDOT has issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for the proposed FM 969 project from FM 973 to Hunters Bend Road in Travis County, Texas.

Description:

The proposed FM 969 project would provide a consistent section of four travel lanes (two in each direction), a continuous two-way center turn lane, outside shoulders, and a continuous sidewalk. The sidewalk, with a usual width of five feet, would be constructed south of and roughly parallel to the roadway. Travel lanes and turn lanes would be 12 feet wide, and outside shoulders would be six feet wide. The proposed 6-foot outside shoulders would accommodate cyclists. Stormwater management on the proposed facility would employ roadside swales and cross-draining culverts.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
