2 p.m. - 7 p.m.
The purpose of the public workshop is to gather input on the Fredericksburg Relief Route Study. The workshop will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience. Staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Aug. 7, 2019 to be a part of the official public workshop record.
The City of Fredericksburg and Gillespie County, acting through the Gillespie County Relief Route Task Force and with support from TxDOT, are exploring a potential US 290 Fredericksburg relief route. The potential route would relieve traffic and improve mobility in downtown Fredericksburg by giving people the option to travel around, rather than directly through, the city.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Fredericksburg Relief Route Study and latest developments, view the current route options and provide input. The public will have the opportunity to see how public input, along with engineering criteria and environmental considerations, have been used to reduce the number of route options to five (the “Primary Route Options”). An historian will also be available to discuss the upcoming historic resources survey. The goal of the study is to identify a locally preferred option driven by community input. All interested parties are encouraged to attend the Open House and provide feedback
TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (512) 517-7251 at least two working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
Memorandum of Understanding:
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
