Purpose:

The purpose of the open house is to present the proposed project on State Loop (SL) 82/Guadalupe Street from University Drive to Grove Street in Hays County. The hearing will begin at 5 p.m. with an open house format, with a formal presentation starting at 6 p.m. Project team members will be on hand to answer questions and provide information during the open house portion of the hearing. Comments must be received on or before July 9, 2019, to be a part of the official hearing record.

Description:

The proposed SL 82/Guadalupe Street improvements are intended to improve mobility and safety for pedestrians and bicyclists. Proposed improvements include the following:

  • Re-striping of the roadway from University Drive to Grove Street to include bike lanes and parking modifications and reduce travel lanes from three lanes to two lanes
  • Sidewalk improvements along the east side of Guadalupe Street from MLK Drive to the Union Pacific railroad tracks
  • Signal adjustments and improvements at various intersections along Guadalupe Street to accommodate cyclists.

Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
