Robert C. Vaughn

Robert C. “Robie” Vaughn is a member of the Texas Transportation Commission, which oversees statewide activities of the Texas Department of Transportation. He was appointed commissioner by Governor Greg Abbott on Aug. 12, 2019. Vaughn, who lives in Dallas, was appointed to serve on the Commission for a term set to expire Feb. 1, 2025.

Vaughn is the owner of Vaughn Capital Partners LLC and Vaughn Petroleum Ltd. He has served as chair of the TexNet Technical Advisory Committee. He is a member of the University of Texas System Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee and the University of Texas at Austin McDonald Observatory and Department of Astronomy Board of Visitors. He is a life member of the University of Texas at Austin Development Board and serves on the Longhorn Foundation Advisory Council.

Vaughn serves on a variety of nonprofit boards, including the Culver Educational Foundation and Perot Museum of Nature and Science, and as a trustee for The First Tee. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
