San Antonio, Texas 78209 (Map)
When:
Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018
Open House: 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Purpose:
The purpose of this open house is to present proposed improvements to the US 281 at Basse Road and Jones Maltsberger Road interchanges in San Antonio, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Nov. 2, 2018 to be a part of the official open house record.
Description:
The proposed project would improve access to US 281 by adding a southbound exit and northbound entrance ramps at Basse Road; currently, the interchange only allows for southbound entrance and northbound exits at US 281 and Basse. At the Jones Maltsberger interchange, TxDOT proposes developing a diverging diamond interchange (DDI). A DDI eliminates the need for left‐turning vehicles to cross paths of approaching vehicles by directing traffic to the opposite side of the road across the interchange.
Special Accommodations:
TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have special communication accommodations, need an interpreter, or if you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. Please call 210-354-2925 by Oct. 10, 2018. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
Memorandum of Understanding:
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
