Public Meeting - US 281 at US 380 Intersection Improvements, Jack County

Jacksboro City Hall
112 W. Belknap St.
Jacksboro, TX 76458 (Map)

Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

TxDOT invites the public to review proposed safety improvements for the intersection of US 281 at US 380 south of Jacksboro in Jack County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation, allowing the public to come and go at their convenience. Comments must be received on or before Dec. 14, 2018, to be a part of the official record.

The proposed alternatives would construct overpass bridges on US 281 over the existing intersection at US 380. This would improve safety and mobility by allowing US 281 through-traffic to flow through the area without stopping. In addition, one alternative would include new frontage roads along US 281 within the project limits to allow local travelers access to US 380 and adjacent properties. The proposed project would require the purchase of new right of way.

Special Accommodation:

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (817) 370-6610 at least five working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
