Notice of Availability of Finding of No Significant Impact - US 380 Widening Project

Purpose:

This notice is to advise the public that TxDOT has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed reconstruction and widening of US 380 from SL 288 to west of CR 26 (Collin County line) in Denton County, TX.

Description:

Proposed improvements would involve the expansion from a four-lane undivided rural highway to a six-lane divided urban highway. Expansion would consist of two 11- to 12-foot wide inside travel lanes and one 14-foot wide outside shared use lane (for bicycle accommodations), with raised medians, curb and gutter, and five-foot wide (minimum) sidewalks. The proposed roadway would also include intersection improvements and the addition of left- and right-turn lanes at designated locations. In addition, interchange improvements are proposed, including five new grade separations.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.

Copies of the FONSI Document, the approved Final Environmental Assessment, the Public Hearing Transcript for the April 24, 2017 public hearing, the Public Hearing Summary and Analysis Report, which includes the Responses to Public Comments, and the Certification of Public Involvement for this project, are available for public inspection and reproduction at the TxDOT Dallas District, at 4777 East Highway 80, in Mesquite, Texas 75150.
