6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input on improvements to the current system by providiing a viable alternative for US 54 freight traffic that currently travels through Dalhart, as proposed by a local workgroup. An open house will begin at 6 p.m. and will provide information and display exhibits related to the project. A short presentation by TxDOT personnel will be conducted at 6:30 p.m., and the open house will reconvene after the presentation.

Proposed improvements include a new four-lane rural divided highway providing two, 12-foot lanes in each direction with a median, ramps, and grade separations at major intersections of highways and railroads. This project would provide improved mobility and accessibility to motorists in the area.
