AUSTIN — Route 66 marks 100 years of adventure this year, and the Texas State Travel Guide and Texas Official Travel Map pay homage to this milestone in American travel history.
The publications’ covers feature the restored vintage Magnolia gas station in Shamrock, one of the most iconic stops along Texas’ stretch of the legendary highway. Inside the Travel Guide, enjoy a special feature from the January/February issue of Texas Highways magazine that highlights the sights, sounds, and bites found along Texas’ Route 66, showcasing roadside landmarks, classic eateries, and must-see stops that define the historic route.
Beyond the cover, the 184-page Texas State Travel Guide helps travelers plan their own road trip journeys whether they want to follow Route 66 or seek their own itinerary of the state’s attractions, outdoor recreation, scenic drives, and cultural experiences.
The companion Texas Official Travel Map provides an easy-to-use statewide road map with detailed city insets, scenic drives, and travel-friendly information to help visitors navigate the Lone Star State with confidence.
