Texas Highways Strikes Gold at Annual Magazine Awards

Official travel magazine of Texas caps 40th anniversary year with 10 awards

AUSTIN – Texas Highways magazine recently won big at the annual International Regional Magazine Association conference and awards ceremony held in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The awards recognize excellence in general-interest, regional publishing.

“It’s been a banner year for Texas Highways magazine and this round of awards is truly appreciated,” said Publisher Joan Henderson. “We celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2014 and we’re pleased to end such a milestone year on this high note. I’d like to thank our loyal readers and online followers for keeping Texas Highways at the forefront of our industry.”

Texas Highways took top honors in the companion website category for its newly redesigned TexasHighways.com. In the past year, website page views increased by more than 113 percent. In total, Texas Highways earned one gold, six silver, two bronze and one award of merit. The awards were presented in the following categories:
