Expansion of FM 2252 in Comal County set to begin

Comal County – Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor is set to begin a widening and safety improvement project on FM 2252, between Evans Road and FM 3009, beginning Monday, January 15, 2024. 

The $48,503,886 project awarded to Harper Brothers Construction of Houston will consist of expanding the existing two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes with a raised median, a continuous left turn lane, as well as constructing a bike lane and sidewalks to enhance alternate forms of travel. 

Signage, as well as digital message boards, will be placed in the area to notify the traveling public of the upcoming construction. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route and avoid the work zone, if possible. The estimated completion date is Fall 2027.
