Bridge repair work in four counties begins March 11

PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that a bridge maintenance project to repair and improve several bridges in Grayson, Hunt, Lamar and Red River counties will begin March 11.

The contractor, MB Western Industrial Contracting Company, was granted 53 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $851,000. The contractor anticipates setting project barricades and starting work on March 11. The target completion date for this project is June 2024.

Occasional, temporary lane closures will sometimes be necessary, officials said.

They advised motorists who travel frequently in these counties to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
