Traffic shifts planned this week in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, Texas – Overlay work in Shelby County this week will impact traffic patterns at various intersections around the county. This work is necessary to prepare for future seal coating operations. Work will occur in the following locations:

• Monday, Jan. 12: FM 2694 (towards Huxley) at FM 139.
  • Traffic flaggers are working to direct traffic on FM 139 and FM 2694.
• Tuesday, Jan. 12: FM 2026 at US 96.
  • US 96 traffic will use the northbound lanes (one for northbound traffic, one for southbound traffic).
  • Traffic on FM 2026 will be piloted to US 96
  • Drivers needing to turn left on FM 2026 from US 96 should seek alternate routes.
• Wednesday, Jan. 14: FM 699 at US 84.
  • All US 84 traffic will use the eastbound lanes.
  • FM 699 traffic will be piloted to US 84.
• Thursday, Jan. 15: FM 1970 (towards Gary) at US 84.
  • All US 84 traffic will use the westbound side.
  • FM 1970 traffic will be piloted to US 84.

Drivers approaching these intersections should slow down, follow all traffic control, and be aware of workers and machinery moving in the area.
