Part of SL 224 to briefly close for nightwork

A portion of SL 224 in Nacogdoches will temporarily close on Thursday, Sept. 25, as contractors perform bridge work.

The southbound lanes of SL 224 between SH 7 and U.S. 59 will close while bridge girders are installed between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. to minimize the impact on traffic in the area.

Southbound traffic will exit the loop at SH 7. Drivers continuing onto U.S. 59 will travel west on SH 7 for approximately 6.5 miles to FM 2782, which connects with U.S. 59 after about 5 miles. Alternatively, drivers wanting to continue onto SL 224 east of the construction zone may travel SH 7 to BUS 59, then travel south on BUS 59 and use the east SL 224 ramp or take BU 59 to SH 21.
