Improvements, restriping planned for FM 2501/357 intersection

TRINITY COUNTY – TxDOT will sealcoat, restripe, and improve the intersection at Farm-to-Market Road 2501 (FM 2501) and FM 357 in the Apple Springs community beginning Friday, Mach 20.

TxDOT will seal-coat the area on March 20, and restriping will take place from March 23 through March 27. The restriping at the intersection will affect traffic patterns and improve safety.

This work was planned to coincide with the Apple Springs Independent School District spring break to minimize disruptions.

Traffic will be shifted in the following ways:

• Southbound traffic from FM 357 to State Highway 94 (SH 94) will yield to FM 2501 traffic.
• Southbound FM 2501 traffic will no longer stop for FM 357 traffic.
• A stop sign will be installed for southbound FM 357 drivers turning onto FM 2501.
• Drivers turning onto FM 357 North from FM 2501 will make a left turn instead of continuing through the curve.

Drivers approaching the intersection while work is being performed should slow down and be alert for workers in the area.
