BU 59/North Street paving resumes March 18

Nacogdoches County – Nighttime paving operations on US 59 Business (BU 59)/North Street in Nacogdoches have been rescheduled to begin on Sunday, March 22 instead of Wendesday, March 18.

This is a continuation of the mill-and-inlay project that began in 2025 when BU 59 between State Highway 21 (SH 21) and State Loop 224 (SL 224) was repaved.

Work during this phase will occur between SH 21/Main Street and SL 224/N. Stallings Drive during night hours to minimize traffic disruptions.

Drivers should expect delays during night hours when workers are present. Pedestrians should use extra caution if approaching the active work zone and seek alternate routes where possible. If traveling near an active work zone, pedestrians should take steps to be as visible as possible, like carrying a light or wearing bright-colored or reflective clothing.

Motorists approaching the work zone should slow down and stay alert for workers and machinery moving in the area.
