Flint Avenue at Loop 88 to close for storm sewer work
Closure scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 6
LUBBOCK – Flint Avenue, north of Loop 88 (FM 1585), will be closed to traffic starting Wednesday. The closure will allow crews to safely continue installing the storm sewer along the project corridor.
Flint Avenue traffic will need to find an alternate route around the work zone. The closure is expected to be in place for approximately three days.
Work will take place weather permitting and is part of a $154.8 million project to convert FM 1585 from a rural, two-lane roadway into Loop 88, a six-lane freeway with frontage roads, bridges, and ramps.
