I-10 widening west closures
Phase I
Saturday, Mar. 7
6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- I-10 westbound at Redd/Thorn Exit (Bypasses to remain open)
Detour: traffic will exit on Redd/Thorn exit, proceed on North Desert through bypass and enter I-10 westbound before Redd.
Crews will be installing Halo Lights at Thorn.
Sunday, Mar. 8
Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- North Desert between Artcraft and Transmountain closed
All side streets closed on the frontage road including Artcraft entrance/exit ramps
All traffic to use Northwestern
Crews will be working on final striping of North Desert.
Monday, Mar. 9
Night, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- North Desert between Redd and Artcraft
All side streets closed on the frontage road including Transmountain entrance/exit ramps
All traffic to use Northwestern
Crews will be working on final striping of North Desert.
Tuesday, Mar. 10
Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- South Desert between Artcraft and Redd
All side streets closed on the frontage road including Redd entrance/exit ramps
All traffic must detour to Doniphan
Crews will be working on final striping of South Desert.
Wednesday, Mar. 11
Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- South Desert between Los Mochis and Transmountain
All side streets closed on the frontage road including Transmountain entrance/exit ramps
All traffic must detour to Doniphan
Crews will be working on final striping of South Desert.
Thursday, Mar. 12
Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Alternate lane closure (mobile operations) on N Desert and S Desert
Final striping for Redd intersection.
Saturday, Mar. 7- Saturday, Mar. 14
Daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (as needed)
7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Saturdays as needed)
Alternate Lane Closures:
- I-10 east and westbound between Vinton and Mesa (daily)
Crews will be working on miscellaneous construction work and sweeping, striping, power washing, and painting barriers on I-10.
- North and South Desert between Vinton and Mesa
Crews will be working on miscellaneous construction work.
Continuous Closure Until further notice 24/7
Monday, June 9, 2025 - End of Mar. 2026
- South Desert between Transmountain and Isela Rubalcava reduced to one lane
- Transmountain West to East turnaround closed
Detour: Traffic through intersection at Transmountain.
Crews will be working on new roadway reconfiguration for South Desert.
Phase II
Sunday, Mar. 8 - Saturday, Mar. 14
Continuous Closure
- Bridge C between Anthony and Vinton U-Turn Underpass closed
Detour: Traffic on North Desert proceeds to Anthony, TX and utilizes U-turn Bridge. Traffic on South Desert proceeds to Vinton, TX and utilizes U-turn Bridge.
Crews will be conducting bridge demolition and construction U-turns under I-10 at Bridge C.
Continuous Closure
- South Desert between Valley Chile and Vinton Steel left lane closed
Detour: Traffic will be kept in one lane, with access to entrance ramp at Valley Chile, then continue in one lane of traffic until past Bridge D (Vinton Steel).
Crews will be working on walls 13 and 14.
Monday, Mar. 9 - Saturday, Mar. 14
Daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Nightly, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Alternate Lane Closures:
- I-10 east and westbound between Anthony and Nashua
- North and South Desert between Anthony and Nashua
Crews will be working on concrete paving and paving trucks will be exiting the work area, crossing from median to I-10.
Monday, Mar. 9 - Friday, Mar. 13
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (as needed)
- Antonio Street (Anthony Bridge) in both directions’ alternate lane closures
- Bypass lanes east and westbound between Mesa and Redd closed
Detour:
Traffic will continue along South Desert, through the Thorn Intersection, and enter I-10 before Mesa.
Traffic will continue along North Desert, through the Thorn Intersection, and enter I-10 before Redd.
Crews will be completing construction on an ornamental fence and landscape at Thorn.
Please follow the detour signs in place on all projects. All work is dependent upon weather conditions.
