Chambers County construction projects updates:

SH146 Installation of Dual Left Turn Lanes

  • Limits: intersection of IH-10 and SH146
  • Contractor: R CONSTRUCTION CIVIL, LLC
  • Cost: $4.4 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2027
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of intersectional and operational improvements by adding turn lanes on SH146 to have dual turn lanes. This work will also have both daytime and nighttime operations.The contractor will be working on finishing the setting of barrier as well as saw cutting operations.

IH-10 North Frontage Road Overlay

  • Limits: From FM1406, East to 0.316 MI E of FM1406
  • Contractor: CORNERSTONE PAVING AND CONSTRUCTION, L.L.C.
  • Cost: $823,000
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2026
  • Scope of Work: The project consists of base repairs and overlaying the roadway with asphalt.The contractor will perform driveway work and mow strip work.

FM565 Flashing Chevrons and Signs

  • Limits: At SH99 and from 0.774 MI E of SH146 at Mont Belvieu to 0.982 MI E of SH146 at Baytown
  • Contractor: JASCO
  • Cost: $311,000
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2026
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of LED stop signs, advanced LED warning signs, and LED chevrons.The contractor will be working on trenching and placing conduits.


Hardin County

A signal traffic crew will be working at the intersection of SH327 and BU96, expect lane closures. Maintenance crews will be performing ditch work and brush removal along SH326 near Laird Rd.

Hardin County construction projects updates:

US96 Bridge Widening Project

  • Limits: At BNSF RR
  • Contractor: Ragle Construction, Inc.
  • Cost: $8.5 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2027
  • Scope of Work: This bridge maintenance project includes substructure repairs and cleaning and painting structural steel. The contractor will be mobilizing to the site on August 24. These operations will include preparing for paint remediation on US96 and US190 bridge locations. Motorists should be prepared to stop and should use caution when traveling through the work zone.

SH326 Roadway Restoration Project

  • Limits: US69 to FM1293
  • Contractor: Texas Materials Group, Inc
  • Cost: $1.5 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Late 2026
  • Scope of Work: This roadway and surfacing project consists of concrete repair, dowel bar retrofit, diamond grinding, clean and seal joints, seal coat, and overlay. The contractor has completed the seal coat and asphalt paving operations. Striping for the final traffic configuration is scheduled to begin next week on the east and westbound main lanes and turn lanes along SH326. Motorists are advised to use caution and remain alert while traveling through the work zone.

Various Bridge Replacement Project

  • Limits: Various
  • Contractor: Texas Materials Group, Inc
  • Cost: $4.1 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: September 2026
  • Scope of Work: This bridge maintenance project consists of replacing the bridge structure and approaches. Major items of work have been completed. The contractor is scheduled to paint bridge structure (STR) numbers on all bridges within Chambers, Hardin and Tyler Counties along with additional delineators to be added to the bridge rail.

Jasper County construction projects updates:

US190 Steinhagen Bridge Project

  • Limits: From Neches River Relief to Neches River
  • Contractor: ISI Contracting, Inc.
  • Cost: $38.2 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2027
  • Scope of Work: This is a bridge replacement project consisting of replacing existing bridges and approaches. The contractor is working to saw cut drainage slots into the south face of the bridge and is also doing grading work for the new bridge approaches. This project is under one-lane, two-way traffic control with temporary signals. Motorists should be prepared to stop and should use caution when traveling through the work zone.

CR Bridges

  • Limits: CR139 at Sandy Creek, CR2300 at Little Cypress Creek
  • Contractor: ISI Contracting, Inc.
  • Cost: $2 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2027
  • Scope of Work: This is a bridge replacement project consisting of replacing existing bridges and approaches.The contractor has completed the removal of the CR2300 bridge and is preparing to pour drill shafts, starting at the CR139 location. CR139 near Sandy Creek and CR2300 near Little Cypress Creek will remain closed for the duration of construction. Motorists should use alternate routes.

FM777

  • Limits: From 4.9 miles South of US190 to US190
  • Contractor: Texas Materials Group, Inc.
  • Cost: $11.5 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2027
  • Scope of Work: This is a roadway widening project consisting of subgrade widening, full depth reclamation, overlay, structure, and bridge replacement. The contractor is tying steel in preparation for pouring the new concrete bridge deck. Crews will also widen the roadway and install base for the bridge approaches on both sides of the Big Walnut Run bridge. FM777 near Big Walnut Run will remain closed for the duration of construction, and motorists should use an alternate route.

Jefferson County

The large debris contractor will be working along IH-10 from the Orange County line to the Chambers County line, along US69 from Sulphur Plant Road to IH-10, and on SH73 from the Chambers County line to the Veterans Memorial Bridge.

Jefferson County construction projects updates:

US90 Bridge Maintenance Project

  • Limits: IH-10 to Langham Road
  • Contractor: Ragle Construction, Inc.
  • Cost: $5.1 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: October 2026
  • Scope of Work: This bridge maintenance project consists of concrete repairs, waterproofing repairs, overlay, and striping operations. These three bridge locations are along US90 at Caldwood Cutoff and Hillebrandt Bayou, and at IH-10 along the Trinity and Old Lost River. The contractor is finishing remaining items of work that include object markers and signs.

US69 Turbine Project

  • Limits: At SH73
  • Contractor: William Brothers, Inc.
  • Cost: $81.5 Million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2027
  • Scope of Work: This is a project to reconfigure the interchange from a cloverleaf design to a turbine design. The contractor is working on the direct connector for US69 southbound to SH73 eastbound and paving on SH73 eastbound from Canal A to 9th Avenue. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone.

IH-10 Eastex Interchange Widening and Reconstruction Project

  • Limits: Hollywood Overpass to 7th Street
  • Contractor: Williams Brothers Construction
  • Cost: $533.2 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2031
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of reconstructing the northern IH-10/US69 interchange and widening the IH-10 from 4 lanes to 6 lanes.The contractor will be working on underground drainage along the east and westbound IH-10 frontage road from 7th to 11th Street and the IH-10 westbound frontage road between Liberty and Calder. They’ll also work on bridge elements including caps and drill shafts along the IH-10 eastbound frontage road. The contractor will be driving concrete piling to support the roadway near Louisiana Street. Crews will be placing concrete pavement and driveways on the US69 frontage road between Delaware and Toccoa Street. Crews will be performing full depth concrete repairs on the IH-10 main lanes during night-time operations. Motorists should be prepared to stop and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

SH124 Taylors Bayou Bridge Replacement Project

  • Limits: At Taylors Bayou
  • Contractor: Texas Materials Group, Inc
  • Cost: $7.7 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: September 2026
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of a bridge replacement at SH124 at Taylor Bayou along with channel widening. The contractor is performing final cleanup.

IH-10 Cardinal Interchange Widening and Reconstruction Project

  • Limits: CR131 (Walden Road) to US90
  • Contractor: Williams Brothers Construction
  • Cost: $315.4 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2031
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of reconstructing the southern IH-10/US69 interchange and widening IH-10 from 4 lanes to 6 lanes. The contractor will be working on bridge elements consisting of columns, footings, and caps within the median of the IH-10 interchange and IH-10 main lanes. The contractor will be placing drill shafts in Hillebrandt Bayou for the IH-10 westbound frontage road bridge. Crews will be placing lime and cement treated base for the IH-10 westbound frontage road west of Hillebrandt Bayou, will be placing concrete pavement on the US69 southbound frontage road between the BNSF railroad and SH124, and will be placing underground drainage within the interchange. Motorists should be prepared to stop and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

IH-10 Widening Project

  • Limits: 0.64 miles west of Hamshire Road to FM365
  • Contractor: Williams Brothers Construction
  • Cost: $119.9 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2028
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of widening an existing four lane freeway to six lanes. Including new construction of lanes and bridges. The contractor will be placing embankment and retaining wall panels on the main lane headers of the FM365 bridge east and west of FM365 along IH-10. Crews will be forming and pouring riprap over pipeline protection pads along the IH-10 eastbound main lanes. The contractor will also be placing metal beam guard fence. Motorists should be prepared to stop and should use caution when traveling through the work zone.

IH-10 Widening Project

  • Limits: FM365 to CR131 (Walden Road)
  • Contractor: Zurich
  • Cost: $136.5 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2028
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of widening the existing four lane freeway to six lanes. Including new construction of lanes and bridges.The contractor is continuing to break concrete from the middle travel lanes at Boyt Road and hauling off to stockpile for crushed base at their batch plant/pugmill. Crews continue to work on straightening barriers on IH-10 westbound between Smith and Boyt Road with nightly closures. The contractor has a drainage crew mobilizing next week and will start developing a work plan for Bayou Dinn. Motorists should be prepared to stop and should use caution when traveling through the work zone.

US90 Sidewalk Project

  • Limits: Various
  • Contractor: Ti-Zach Concrete, LLC
  • Cost: $2.6 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: March 2028
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of pedestrian infrastructure including sidewalks, pedestrian curb ramps, and traffic signals along US90 (College Street). The contractor will be working on concrete operations for curbs, driveways, and sidewalks along Langham Drive. Motorists should be prepared to stop and should use caution when traveling through the work zone.

IH-10 Bridge Maintenance

  • Limits: Various
  • Contractor: ICOS Management, LLC
  • Cost: $2.2 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: October 2026
  • Scope of Work: This bridge maintenance project consists of replacing bearing pads and bridge rail upgrades.No scheduled work for the week.

Various Port Sign Project

  • Limits: IH-10, etc. (Various)
  • Contractor: Rhino Equity, LLC
  • Cost: $200,000
  • Anticipated Completion Date: September 2026
  • Scope of Work: This port infrastructure project consists of the installation of signage for port wayfinding in Jefferson and Orange Counties. The contractor is planning to continue drill shaft and concrete foundation operations in various locations along IH-10.

Large Sign Replacement Project

  • Limits: Various
  • Contractor: Hazmat International, Inc.
  • Cost: $241,000
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2027
  • Scope of Work: This traffic control device project consists of large sign replacement districtwide in multiple counties. The contractor has begun replacing large aluminum signs along SH73 and will continue this work as part of the ongoing project improvements.

DW Landscaping Project

  • Limits: Various
  • Contractor: Tight Line Construction, LLC
  • Cost: $1.2 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2028
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of landscape and scenic enhancement. This project is currently in vegetative maintenance until Spring 2028, which includes watering, replacing trees, and weed control.

Dowlen Road Signal Project

  • Limits: N. Delaware Street to Eastex Freeway and N. Hwy 90 to Gladys Avenue
  • Contractor: Florida Traffic Control
  • Cost: $711,000
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Late 2026
  • Scope of Work: This safety improvement project consists of interconnecting signals. Currently working with the City of Beaumont on traffic signal upgrades.

9th Avenue Safety Improvement Project

  • Limits: Various
  • Contractor: Third Coast Services
  • Cost: $2.2 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Late 2026
  • Scope of Work: This safety improvement project consists of traffic signals, roadway improvements, and pavement markings. The contractor is currently working on redesigning the drainage.

FM365 Safety Improvement Project

  • Limits: US90 to LNVA Canal
  • Contractor: Cornerstone Paving
  • Cost: $1.1 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Early 2027
  • Scope of Work: This safety improvement project consists of constructing paved shoulders that vary from 1 to 4 feet, installing safety end treatments, and improve drainage. The contractor is continuing to work on installing safety end treatments along FM365 and continues preparing for widening of the shoulder by performing full depth concrete repairs. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone.

Liberty County

A traffic signal crew will be working at the intersection of SH105 and Charles Barker, expect lane closures. Maintenance crews will be working on FM787 from SH146 to the county line and along FM160 from SH146 to two miles east performing level up operations.

Liberty County construction projects updates:

US90 Constructing Overpass

  • Limits: At UP Railroad just east of SH146 in Dayton
  • Contractor: SER CONSTRUCTION PARTNERS, LLC
  • Cost: $30.0 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Early of 2028
  • Scope of Work: The project consists of constructing an overpass at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing. The contractor will be placing beams on Friday night. This will be a nighttime operation from 9pm to 5am with eastbound lane closures for this operation. They will also continue working on the retaining wall work and caps.


US90 Overlay

  • Limits: From Trinity River Bridge, east to 0.14 MI. W. OF SH 146 N
  • Contractor: CORNERSTONE PAVING AND CONSTRUCTION, L.L.C.
  • Cost: $4.1M
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Late 2026
  • Scope of Work: The project consists of milling asphalt pavement, base repairs, cleaning and sealing joints, seal coat, and overlaying the roadway. The contractor will be waiting on joints to cure and will do some curb repair work in the meantime as the curing takes place. Following that the seal coat will be placed followed by the asphalt overlay.

US59 Northbound Frontage Road Overlay

  • Limits: From SL573 S to Dudley St.
  • Contractor: CORNERSTONE PAVING AND CONSTRUCTION, L.L.C.
  • Cost: $862K
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Fall of 2026
  • Scope of Work: The project consists of base repairs and overlaying the roadway with asphalt. The contractor ordered the remaining signs needed and is scheduled to complete the mow strip.

US59 Northbound and Southbound Frontage Road Overlay

  • Limits: At FM2025 Ramp to Ramp (NB & SB) to At FM2025 Ramp to Ramp (NB & SB)
  • Contractor: CORNERSTONE PAVING AND CONSTRUCTION, L.L.C.
  • Cost: $1M
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Fall of 2026
  • Scope of Work: The project consists of base repairs, cleaning and sealing joints, overlaying the roadway with asphalt, and striping.Joint seal work and backfilling to be completed next week. Alternating lane closure on Monday 8/24/2026 from 7am to 4pm to address the joint seal work at FM 2025.

SH105 Overlay

  • Limits: From US59, E to SH321
  • Contractor: CORNERSTONE PAVING AND CONSTRUCTION, L.L.C.
  • Cost: $2.8M
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Fall of 2026
  • Scope of Work: The project consists of base repairs, followed by seal coat operations, and overlaying the roadway with asphalt.The contractor is currently performing asphalt operations. Expect one lane closed with flaggers from SH321 to the US59 connector from 7am to 5pm west and eastbound due to striping.

Multiple locations in Liberty and Chambers County construction projects updates:

Bridge Replacement Projects (3 Locations)

  • Contractor: BRICE HIGHWAY LLC
  • Cost: $5.7M
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2027
  • Limits: FM563 at FM770 (Liberty County)
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of replacing existing bridge and approaches. Work includes installing metal beam guard fence, delineators, and striping. The contractor worked on placing embankment for the approach and will continue embankment operations throughout the week.
  • Limits: CR2307 Miller Road (at Gaylor Creek in Liberty County)
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of replacing existing bridge and approaches. Work includes installing metal beam guard fence, delineators, and striping.The contractor will be working on deck placement.
  • Limits: North Bay Avenue at Lone Star Canal (Chambers County)
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of replacing existing bridge as well as sidewalk work in different location along Miller St and North Bay Avenue. The project will have a pedestrian bridge on North Bay Avenue over the Lone Star Canal. The contractor has placed some sidewalks along SH65, Miller Street, and side roads. The contractors will progress as able while continuing to prosecute the other two locations primary.

Pavement Markings and Signs

Limits: Various locations and limits in Liberty (US59, SH321, SH105, FM2518 and FM1725) and Chambers County (IH-10 and SH146)

  • Contractor: TRP INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES, LLC
  • Cost: $2.4M
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Early 2027
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of pavement markings and signings in Liberty County and pavement markings in Chambers County. The contractor worked on the edge line striping starting in the Winnie area and moved west on the main lanes. Crews will continue the work as they move further west.

Newton County construction projects updates:

CR Bridges

  • Limits: CR 2018 at Hackberry Branch, CR4095 at Sabine River Draw, CR456 at Thickety Creek
  • Contractor: Hodges & Sons Construction Company, Inc.
  • Cost: $1.5 Million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2027
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of replacing bridges and approaches. At the CR456 location, the contractor is working on tying steel and forming for the new bridge rail, and at the CR2018 location, the contractor is driving piling for the new bridge abutments. Motorists should be cautious when driving through the work zones. CR2018 will remain closed at the bridge crossing for the duration of construction. Motorists should use an alternate route.

FM 1414

  • Limits: From SH63 to 0.067 miles South of FM 2991
  • Contractor: Texas Materials Group, Inc.• Cost: $3.8 Million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: September 2026
  • Scope of Work: This project is a restoration project consisting of super elevation correction and overlay. The contractor is doing final cleanup.

Orange County

Orange County Maintenance crews will be replacing guardrail at the IH-10 869 eastbound exit and replacing a crash attenuator at the 861 IH-10 westbound exit. Signal crews will be working at the intersection of SH12 and SH87, expect lane closures.

Orange County construction projects updates:

IH-10 Sabine River Bridge

  • Limits: At Sabine River
  • Contractor: Gibson & Associates, Inc.
  • Cost: $4.7 Million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: August 2026
  • Scope of Work: This is a bridge maintenance project including deck repairs, painting structural steel, and span improvements. Contractors completed placing the final striping for IH-10 and are currently working on project clean up on the bridge.

FM1130

  • Limits: From FM1136 to 4.26 miles
  • Contractor: Texas Materials Group, Inc.
  • Cost: $3.9 Million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2027
  • Scope of Work: This is a safety improvement project consisting of subgrade widening, metal beam guard fence, pavement markings, and signing. Contractor has been working to acquire permits from the railroad. Work is anticipated to continue in late September.

Tyler County construction projects updates:

US69 Gateway to the Big Thicket Project

  • Limits: Hardin County Line to South of Black Creek
  • Contractor: Pulice Construction, Inc.
  • Cost: $223.2 million
  • Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2028
  • Scope of Work: This project consists of widening and improving US69 to a four-lane, divided roadway with shoulders, an evacuation lane on the northbound lanes, and a median. Including new construction of lanes and bridges. The contractor will be placing and repairing storm water erosion control devices through the project.

US287 Resurfacing Project

Limits: Russel Creek Bridge South to US69

Contractor: Drewery Construction Company, Inc.

Cost: $20.9 million

Anticipated Completion Date: Early 2027

Scope of Work: This rehabilitation project consists of reclamation, dense grade hot mix asphalt, and superpave surface. The contractor will continue reclamation operations along US 287 and will begin reworking the existing roadway materials, adding flexible base, cement, and emulsion as part of the roadway reconstruction process. Motorists are advised to use caution and remain alert while traveling through the work zone.


FM256 Resurfacing Project

Limits: US69 to Clear Fork Creek

Contractor: Cornerstone Paving and Construction LLC

Cost: $5.6 million

Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2026

Scope of Work: This safety project consists of safety treating fixed objects, widening shoulders, and overlay. The contractor is finishing remaining items of work that includes replacing signage, mailboxes, and metal beam guard fence. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone.
