Robert C. Vaughn

Robert C. “Robie” Vaughn is a member of the Texas Transportation Commission, which oversees statewide activities of the Texas Department of Transportation. Vaughn, who lives in Dallas, Texas, was first appointed commissioner by Governor Greg Abbott on August 12, 2019. On March 27, 2025, Governor Greg Abbott reappointed Vaughn to a new six-year term to continue serving on the Texas Transportation Commission and was confirmed by the Texas State Senate on May 7, 2025. Vaughn’s current term expires on February 1, 2031.

Vaughn is the owner of Vaughn Capital Partners, LLC. He has served as chair of the TexNet Technical Advisory Committee. He serves on Dorchester Minerals, LP (NASDAQ: DMLP) Board of Managers. He is a member of the University of Texas System Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee and the University of Texas at Austin McDonald Observatory and Department of Astronomy Board of Visitors. He is a life member of the University of Texas at Austin Development Board and serves on the Longhorn Foundation Advisory Council.

Vaughn serves on a variety of nonprofit boards including the Culver Educational Foundation, Perot Museum of Nature and Science, and as a trustee for The First Tee. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
