Courtyard Drive/RM 2222

Loop 360 Projects

This project will remove the traffic signal from Loop 360 mainlanes at Courtyard Drive and construct an underpass. The project will also reconfigure RM 2222 at Loop 360 to a Diverging Diamond Interchange and add shared-use paths and sidewalks within the project limits.

Lane closures

Northbound Loop 360 from Pennybacker Bridge to RM 2222 alternating single lane closures nightly
- Wednesday, Aug. 5 through Friday, Aug. 7, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Northbound Loop 360 exit ramp to RM 2222 closed nightly
- Wednesday, Aug. 5 through Friday, Aug. 7, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Eastbound RM 2222 at Loop 360 left lanes closed nightly
- Wednesday, Aug. 5 through Friday, Aug. 7, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

New Traffic Patterns at RM 2222

Eastbound RM 2222 entrance ramp to southbound Loop 360 will close. Drivers will turn right at RM 2222 signal to access southbound Loop 360.
North Courtyard Drive access to RM 2222 will close. Drivers will use the signal at south Courtyard Drive to access Loop 360 and RM 2222.
Northbound Loop 360 exit ramp to RM 2222 will change lanes to left turn only, left turn/straight, and right turn only.

Construction activity

Construction takes place on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Neighbors and businesses may experience an increase in noise, vibration, and dust during excavation and night work. TxDOT asks drivers to be patient. Plan ahead and expect delays.

Schedule

The project was environmentally cleared in spring 2021. Construction began in April 2026 and is expected to be complete in late 2029.

Construction phases

Work on this project will take place in four phases:

Phase 1: Set up work zone, construct waterlines and excavate cliffs.
Phase 2: Construct new northbound and southbound connector roads, drainage systems, braided ramps and Courtyard Drive bridge. Start shared-use paths.
Phase 3: Construct RM 2222 Diverging Diamond Interchange and complete shared-use paths.
Phase 4: Perform final paving and striping and open to permanent traffic patterns.
