With the introduction of new transportation technologies, there is a significant need to research how these opportunities will affect people’s lifestyles, jobs, mobility options, roads, and other infrastructure. Safety, efficiency, and public mobility needs are of the utmost importance to positive experiences and advancement of CAV capabilities. Continued research and analysis of CAV uses effectively complement the industry and public agency efforts which make our transportation systems better. As an example, every year, TxDOT solicits research problem statements to define future years’ work. This page will provide updates on completed and ongoing CAV research in Texas and around the nation as well as access to submit research ideas to TxDOT.
