The first section would be from 4 miles east of State Loop 20 to 2.7 miles east and will be widening the existing SH 359 roadway from two 12-foot travel lanes with a 14 foot center turn lane to four 12 foot wide travel lanes with a 16 foot center turn lane. The second section would be from 6.7 miles east of SL 20 to 3.1 miles east. In this section we will widen to a four-lane divided highway consiting of two 12 foot wide travel lanes in each direction with a divided grass median. 

The project will consist of grading, stabilized base, asphalt concrete pavement, metal beam guard rail, drainage improvements and pavement markings.

Additional Right-of Way will be needed along the existing Right of Way. Utility accommodations will be required along the Right of Way and at several crossings throughout the limits of the project.

The estimated construction cost of the project is approximately $47,686,785.70 and is being funded by 80% Federal funds and 20% State funds.

The project will be constructed in 3 Phases.

Phase I

Construct the South side of the roadway including drainage culverts and driveways.

Phase II

Construct North side of the roadway including drainage culverts and driveways.

Phase III

Place final lift of asphalt concrete pavement on entire project.
