This is a new location roadway being constructed on approximately 479 acres of new right-of-way.

The new facility will be a four-lane divided roadway that will consist of two 12-foot travel lanes with 4-foot wide inside shoulders and 10-foot wide outside shoulders in each direction.

A large median will divide each direction of travel. There are three proposed intersection crossings with turn-arounds based on the City of Laredo Thoroughfare plan, with one being the extension of Beltway Parkway.

Right-of-way acquisition is 99% complete with a single parcel remaining to be acquired. Utilities impacted are already being relocated with the most complex scheduled for completion by June 2025. There are no railroad crossings within the limits of this project.

The estimated construction cost of the project is approximately $122,229,769 and is being funded by 80% Federal funds and 20% State funds.

The construction phase is scheduled to begin in August 2024. Being a new roadway, impact to the traveling public will be limited to when the final connections to FM 1472 and IH 35 are completed. The construction period is approximately 41 months, weather permitting.
