Existing SL20 at Lomas Del Sur Blvd is a closed intersection that will be upgraded to an elevated bridge structure to allow vehicular movement underneath SL20 and maximize traffic flow.
This project will introduce an overpass structure with 2 main lanes in each direction with the capacity to widen in the future to 3-lanes, frontage roads, and ramps.
Construction will also add a shared-use-path for pedestrians and bicyclists along the west frontage road.

The construction cost of the project is $49,586,906.60 and is being funded by 80% Federal funds and 20% State funds.
The project will be constructed in 4 phases.
Phase 1 will include the construction of the overpass at the current closed intersection, retaining walls, and ramps. As well include constructing a permanent traffic barrier from 0.5 miles south of SH 359 to 0.5 miles N or Lomas Del Sur, along Loop 20 (Cuatro Vientos).
Phase 2 will be the reconstruction of the frontage roads, northbound and southbound.
Phase 3 will be the construction of the sidewalk along the SB frontage road.
Phase 4 will be the installation of signage and striping.
