We are excited to show you our progress as we build a better way to travel on US 290 and SH 71.
2025
Oak Hill Parkway crews continue construction for eastbound SH 71 near Scenic Brook Drive. Once complete, traffic will shift to the new lanes to open space for crews to begin construction of the westbound lanes. January 2025
Oak Hill Parkway crews continue construction of the new eastbound US 290 mainlane bridges near William Cannon Drive. As they finish placing columns and caps, crews will begin preparation for setting girders and completing bridge decks. January 2025
Rebar mats are installed along the future westbound US 290 mainlanes near the recently completed cross-street bridge at Scenic Brook Drive. February 2025
While eastbound US 290 traffic temporarily flows on the completed westbound US 290 mainlane bridge, Oak Hill Parkway crews place beams for future eastbound US 290 mainlane bridge to the south. February 2025
Oak Hill Parkway crews continue bridge construction for the future eastbound US 290 mainlanes. They begin with construction of support structures including columns and caps, then place beams, and finally complete the bridge deck by setting panels and pouring concrete. March 2025
Oak Hill Parkway crews use a large paver to pour and flatten concrete for future westbound US 290 mainlanes and exit ramp just west of Scenic Brook Drive. Use of recycled materials from the old US 290 & SH 71 roadway surfaces helps divert construction waste from landfills and conserve new resources. March 2025
Oak Hill Parkway crews recently completed the substructures near the "Y" interchange. These will support new connections between US 290 and SH 71 over the future lowered US 290 mainlanes. The eastbound US 290 frontage road in this area is also nearing completion and will be ready to support traffic in the coming months. April 2025
Oak Hill Parkway crews recently began pouring concrete for a portion of shared-use path near Hill Oaks Drive. This section of shared-use path will provide direct access between US 290 and SH 71 through a pedestrian tunnel that passes underneath bridge structures near the "Y" interchange. April 2025
A crane carefully places a rebar cap cage onto recently completed columns for a portion of a ramp bridge near the "Y" interchange. In the final configuration, drivers will be able to use this bridge to reach US 290 from SH 71 after passing through a Single Point Urban Interchange. May 2025
With the westbound US 290 mainlane bridge temporarily supporting eastbound traffic, Oak Hill Parkway crews make progress on the future eastbound US 290 mainlane bridge next to it. Crews recently poured the concrete bridge deck for several spans of this bridge east of William Cannon Drive as they continue to place beams for spans to the west. May 2025
Oak Hill Parkway crews use a paver and a smooth drum static roller to place new asphalt along a portion of SH 71 near the "Y" Interchange. Once complete, these new lanes will serve as the future eastbound SH 71 frontage road. May 2025
