Prepare for new traffic patterns across the project corridor.

Patton Ranch Road closure at US 290

  • As early as Friday, May 30, Patton Ranch Road at US 290 will close for approximately three months for construction of a new bridge over Williamson Creek.
  • Drivers will detour to William Cannon Drive or Parkwood Drive for the duration of the closure.
  • All major activity is subject to change and weather permitting.

Eastbound SH 71 Shifts to New Lanes

  • As early as mid-June 2025,weather permitting, eastbound SH 71 traffic will shift to the new eastbound lanes and westbound SH 71 traffic will shift to the existing eastbound lanes.
  • All business access will become a right-in / right-out configuration.
  • Eastbound SH 71 drivers will use a temporary non-signalized U-turn near Oak Hill Plaza / Center of the Hills to access westbound SH 71.
  • Westbound SH 71 drivers will make a U-turn at the Silvermine Drive / Fletcher Lane signal to access eastbound SH 71.
  • All major activity is subject to change and weather permitting.

Wolfcreek Pass/Hill Oaks Drive temporary access from US 290

  • As early as April 10, access for Wolfcreek Pass and Hill Oaks Drive will shift to the eastbound US 290 local access road east of the 'Y' Interchange.
  • The future eastbound US 290 frontage road connection between Convict Hill Road and Wolfcreek Pass will close temporarily for bridge construction.
  • Drivers will access Hill Oaks Drive through a right in/right out to the access road.
  • All major activity is subject to change and weather permitting.

Eastbound US 290 William Cannon bypass

  • Eastbound US 290 drivers heading toward downtown Austin temporarily have the opportunity to bypass the William Cannon Drive intersection.
  • For local traffic heading to William Cannon Drive, McCarty Lane and Old Fredericksburg Road, one lane will be maintained along the existing eastbound US 290 roadway.
  • Westbound US 290 traffic is unaffected.
  • This configuration is anticipated to be in place for approximately six months.
